First Open Source Developers Conference in France
Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie, Paris, October 2 & 3, 2009
OSDC.fr takes its inspiration from similar conferences outside of France. Our goal is to gather French-speaking developers from different communities around innovative technologies.
For the first OSDC conference in France, we'd like to get together communities dedicated to programming based on dynamic languages such as Perl, Python, and Ruby.
The aim is clearly to learn by exploring the universe of all languages. There is often more to learn in terms of concepts or techniques not related to a particular language.
So we invite you to join us by taking part in OSDC.fr in one of two ways:
- You can propose to give one or more talks. We prefer talks to be in French, but English is acceptable.
- Or you can simply show up on October 2 and 3, 2009, at the Cité des Sciences. Entrance is free and everyone is welcome.
Talks can last 20, 40 or 120 minutes. We'll have lightning talks: 5 minutes max for each talk.
Here is a non-exhaustive list of possible subjects:
- Themes related to programming languages such as Perl, PHP, Python, Ruby, Erlang, JavaScript, Scala, Groovy, Haskell, C, C++, SmallTalk, Java, etc.
- Dynamic compilation
- Interpreters and virtual machines (Parrot, JVM, CLR, etc)
- Development tools
- Development best practices
- Programming experience feedback
- Libraries
Key dates:
- Deadline for submitting a talk : September 15, 2009
- Final schedule : September 25, 2009
- OSDC.fr conference : October 2 & 3 2009
